 WEDNESDAY
09:45–11:45 - A0
11:45–13:45 - A1

Levels available: A0–A1 / A2 / B1 / B2+
(Depending on demand & group openings.)

📌 A0 — Absolute Beginner (Pre-A1)

You’re brand new. You might know kaliméra… and that’s about it.
In this level, we build your first “survival Greek”: saying your name, recognising the Greek alphabet, catching very simple questions, and responding in tiny, safe sentences—without panic. (Think yes/no, one-word answers, and short phrases that actually work in real life.)

📌 A1 — Your First Real Greek

You can understand and use very basic everyday phrases, introduce yourself, ask/answer simple personal questions… as long as the other person helps a little and speaks clearly.
This is where you stop “knowing words” and start building tiny conversations: greetings, cafés, shopping, directions, family, daily routine—slow, friendly, doable.

📌 A1+ — You Know the Basics. Now Make Them Move.

You can order at a taverna, introduce yourself, survive small talk… but you still get stuck mid-sentence.
This level is about speed + comfort: more questions, more answers, more “wait—how do I say that?” moments… with gentle help so you keep going instead of freezing.

📌 A1++ — From “I Manage” to “I Can”

You’re already speaking… but it still feels like a puzzle.
Here we make your Greek more automatic: longer turns, smoother sentences, easier question-asking, less “grammar in your head” while you’re talking. You’ll practise the kind of small everyday exchanges that build confidence fast.

📌 A2 — Everyday Conversations That Actually Happen

A2 is the sweet spot of real-life Greek: you can handle simple, routine exchanges about familiar topics—shopping, plans, work, home, daily life.
This level helps you stop sounding “textbook-correct but quiet” and start sounding natural enough to keep the conversation going.

📌 A2+ — Real Talk, Real Speed, Real Greece

You can speak… until Greeks speak back quickly.
A2+ is where you train for real rhythm: common expressions, opinions, comparisons, mini stories, “wait—let me explain,” and all the useful glue words that make you sound more fluent. It’s still supportive—just with more stretch.

📌 B1 — You Can Handle Life in Greek

At B1 you can deal with most situations while travelling, follow clear speech on familiar topics, and tell simple connected stories about experiences, plans, and opinions.
This level is for longer conversations: explaining, reacting, storytelling, giving reasons, agreeing/disagreeing politely—without needing to rehearse every sentence.

📌 B2 — Fluent, Spontaneous, No “Script”

B2 means you can interact with real fluency and spontaneity, discuss more complex topics, and explain viewpoints with pros/cons.
This is where conversations get juicy: deeper discussion, nuance, humour, idioms, culture, “let’s actually debate this,” and sounding like you—in Greek.

Choose Your Perfect Group:

Welcome to “Local… but Speechless.”

You live in Heraklion (or you’re here a lot). You’ve heard Greek every day at the bakery, the laïkí market, the pharmacy, the cafés.

And still… you do the smile + nod + English routine.

You rehearse what you’ll say in your head.

You almost say it.

And then the moment arrives… and your brain goes: 404. Greek not found.

Not because you’re “bad at languages.”

Because random studying doesn’t turn into usable Greek.

You don’t need more theory floating around in your head.

You need a system that takes you:

from rules → to words → to sentences → to real-life Greek.

Heraklion Greek Lessons (In-Person)

Structure when you need it. Confidence when you’re ready.
This is a structured, teacher-led Greek course with tiny groups—built to help you actually learn the language (not just “expose” yourself to it).
What you can expect:

  • Clear explanations (without drowning in grammar)

  • Practical vocabulary you’ll actually use in Crete

  • Reading + listening that trains your real-world understanding

  • Writing that locks the language into your memory

  • Light, guided speaking practice

Because yes, you’ll speak a little but the main mission is learning Greek properly

What we learn (aka: what you’ll finally stop guessing)

Depending on your level, we work on:

  • The Greek alphabet + pronunciation (without suffering)

  • Core grammar (in small, usable bites)

  • Cases without the panic (yes, accusative… we’ll survive)

  • Real-life verbs + sentence patterns

  • Listening skills (so Greek stops sounding like one long word)

  • Reading in the wild (signs, menus, messages, everyday texts)

  • Writing that helps you remember (not essays—useful writing)

And sprinkled throughout:
mini speaking moments—safe, guided, practical—so your mouth doesn’t forget it has a job.

All levels welcome (I’ll place you)

Absolute beginner? Great.
You’ve studied before but forgot everything? Also great.
You can already speak but want accuracy and flow? Perfect.

We’ll place you in the right group so you’re not bored… and not drowning.

Levels available: A0–A1 / A2 / B1 / B2+

FAQs (short & useful)

_______

💡Where do the lessons take place?

In Heraklion, at our school address: Papanastasiou A 22 (Ηράκλειο). (Papanastasiou / Leoforos Papanastasiou is a main street in Heraklion.)

💡Who will be teaching me?

You’ll be taught by me (Artemis) and/or one of the experienced Greek Talk Club tutors—same teaching style, same warm structure, same goal: real progress without stress.

💡Is this the same as the online Greek Talk Club?

No. Talk Club is conversation-first.
These in-person lessons are learning-first: clear teaching + guided practice + (yes) a little speaking support—but speaking isn’t the “main event.”

💡What materials will we use?

A coursebook/textbook we follow for steady, level-by-level progress.

A teacher-made booklet (created by us) with vocabulary, verbs, exercises, and extra practice—so the lesson doesn’t vanish the moment you close the book.

💡Will we speak Greek in class?

Yes—short, supported, practical speaking (mini dialogues, controlled practice, real-life phrases).
But this course is built to help you learn Greek properly: grammar, vocab, reading/listening, and confidence—then speaking grows naturally from that.

💡Do I need to know the Greek alphabet?

No. If you’re A0/A1, we handle it early and properly so you stop guessing and start reading like a local.

💡What level should I join?

Don’t overthink it. Tell us what you’ve studied what you can do, and we’ll place you in the best fit so you’re not bored and not drowning.

💡What if I miss a lesson?

No shame spiral. You’ll have the materials, and I’ll help you catch up with clear guidance so you can rejoin without feeling behind.

💡Do I need to bring anything?

Just a notebook (or tablet), a pen, and your curiosity.

_______

Hey, I’m Artemis 👋

Founder of GreekTalkClub the home of Μίλα Ελληνικά (Greek Talk Club) and structured Greek learning that actually sticks

I teach from Crete, powered by sunshine and an unreasonable love of Freddo Espresso—and for 10+ years I’ve watched smart, motivated learners do everything “right”… then go completely blank the moment a real human smiles and asks: «τι θα πάρετε;»

So I built GreekTalkClub to close that gap—not with more apps, but with lessons designed around real life: ordering, planning, reacting, telling stories… and then the grammar, vocab, reading, and listening that make those sentences come out clean and confident.

My background (the short, strong coffee version):
B.A. Greek Language & Literature · M.A. Educational Management & Leadership · 10+ years teaching.

And yes this is a school, not a solo act.
GreekTalkClub offers online lessons and in-person Greek lessons in Heraklion, and you can learn with me or with one of our experienced tutors—using the same warm, structured approach and materials we’re known for.

If you want Greek that doesn’t live only in your notebook—welcome. Let’s make it show up in real life.
